Our denture process takes approximately 3 to 6 months in total, depending on a few factors. The first step is attending your consultation with our office. Our doctor will examine your oral health and search for signs of infection or decay, and identify if other teeth need to be extracted. After the consultation, we will set up a time for you to come back to the office so our doctor can extract the teeth. Your mouth will take 6 to 8 weeks to heal after this step.
We’ll follow up after your extractions are healed and we will take measurements and a mold of your mouth to make sure the dentures will fit your mouth exactly as they should. We then send this mold to a dental lab where the dentures are built to match your needs. Once your dentures are ready, we’ll fit the dentures to your mouth so they are functional and comfortable for you. Any adjustments that are needed will be made at this time so you can leave feeling confident with your new smile!

Do dentures hurt?
Dentures do not hurt, but it can take some time to get used to wearing your dentures while eating and speaking. You will eventually get used to this new feeling and will feel like regular teeth. If you experience any pain, talk to your dentist as your dentures may need adjustment.
How will dentures feel compared to regular teeth?
Dentures will feel slightly different as they are not retained in the jaw like regular teeth are. After wearing them for a little bit, you will become adjusted to the feeling and functions of dentures.
How do I clean my dentures?
Brush the denture daily. Use a soft-bristled brush daily to remove food, plaque, and other deposits.
Soak the denture overnight. Remove the denture at night and soak it in a nonabrasive at-home denture cleanser.
What are the different types of dentures?
There are two types of dentures available. Traditional dentures that can be easily removed and cleaned on a daily basis and those that are “fixed”, also known as fixed dentures. Fixed dentures are permanently secured using dental implants. Once installed, they cannot be removed unless oral surgery is provided. With the proper care, fixed dentures will last a lifetime and feel almost indistinguishable from natural teeth.
